Aviation Construction Project Manager
Location: Atlanta, GA (with 40-50% travel)
Position Overview
We are seeking an experienced Aviation Construction Project Manager to lead complex aviation infrastructure projects with a strong emphasis on fueling systems and related industrial construction. This role is ideal for a hands-on project manager with a background in aviation fueling, oil & gas, gas pipeline, or industrial water projects who thrives in a fast-paced, safety-critical environment. The position is based in Atlanta and requires regular travel to active project sites across the U.S.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage aviation-related construction projects from preconstruction through closeout, ensuring schedule, budget, safety, and quality objectives are met
- Lead and coordinate all project activities, including subcontractors, vendors, engineers, inspectors, and client representatives
- Oversee construction of fueling systems, pipeline infrastructure, utility systems, and related civil/industrial scopes in airport and secure environments
- Develop and manage project schedules, budgets, forecasts, and cost controls
- Review and manage RFIs, submittals, change orders, and contract documents
- Ensure compliance with FAA, TSA, EPA, OSHA, airport authority requirements, and applicable local/state regulations
- Enforce safety standards and promote a strong safety culture across all project sites
- Collaborate with estimating and preconstruction teams on bid reviews and project handoffs
- Provide regular project reporting to internal leadership and clients
- Support client relationships and contribute to repeat business and project growth
Required Qualifications
- 7-12 years of overall construction project management experience
- Proven experience in one or more of the following sectors:
- Aviation fueling systems
- Oil & gas or gas pipeline construction
- Industrial water/wastewater systems
- Heavy civil or industrial construction
- Experience working for or closely with a general contractor
- Strong knowledge of construction means and methods, scheduling, cost control, and contract administration
- Demonstrated ability to manage projects in active airport or high-security environments (preferred)
- Willingness and ability to travel up to 40-50%
- Proficiency with construction management software (e.g., Procore, Primavera P6, MS Project, or similar)
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related field (preferred)
- PMP, CCM, or similar certification is a plus
