The Direct Hire Division of Consilio, LLC is working with a highly regarded law firm that is seeking to hire a Real Estate Paralegal to join their Houston, TX office. This position is not with Consilio directly; it is a direct hire, permanent opportunity with the law firm.
Our client is seeking an experienced, detail-oriented Real Estate Paralegal to support attorneys in the Firm’s Real Estate practice group. This role supports complex commercial real estate matters – including acquisitions, dispositions, financings, and leasing.

They are targeting someone with commercial real estate experience (not oil and gas or residential), who is a self-starter, good at prioritizing, and with a solid understanding of the work. This role presently allows for a hybrid schedule of 3 days in-office, 2 days remote depending on workload and team needs.
In this role, you will:
Support General Commercial Real Estate Tasks:
- Track transaction checklists, timelines, and overall matter statuses
- Order and review title and survey products, reviewing and summarizing title commitments and exceptions
- Track endorsement and survey matters
- Coordinate resolution of title and survey issues with attorneys, title companies, surveyors, and other participants
Assist With Due Diligence:
- Order and conduct UCC, lien, and litigation searches.
- Run federal court searches via PACER.
- Execute patent, trademark, and copyright (IP) searches.
- Review UCC, lien, and IP search results; prepare abstracts for attorney and client review.
- Obtain charter documents and good standing certificates.
Facilitate the Closing Process:
- Prepare UCC filings, including detailed collateral descriptions.
- Record UCC filings, IP collateral, and other collateral types, such as deeds of trust.
- Draft release documents for all types of collateral.
- Prepare closing checklists and execution signature page sets.
- Prepare ancilary closing documents, loan documents, and leases
- Compile executed PDF closing documents and provide general assistance with loan closings.
- Prepare and distribute closing transcripts.
- Manage and distribute original documents.
Manage Projects:
- Work with outside research vendors to facilitate diligence search orders.
- Oversee the recording of UCC and collateral documents.
- Ensure most UCC filings are processed online through vendor services and filed electronically.
Qualified Candidates Have:
- A minimum of 4-7 years of Real Estate Paralegal experience working in a law firm.
- The ability to handle multiple projects with changing priorities while working independently in a fast-paced environment.
- The ability to work overtime, evenings, and weekends, as needed.
- Excellent spelling, grammar, and punctuation skills.
- A high school diploma, plus substantial and relevant work experience; though a bachelor's degree or some college is preferred.
- An ABA-approved paralegal certification (preferred).
- Proficiency in Windows 11, Microsoft Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Adobe Acrobat Professional, Zoom, and Teams. Must be able to quickly learn new skills and systems.
Salary: $80,000 to $125,000
