Job Description

This position supports a sophisticated commercial litigation practice and offers the opportunity to work closely with attorneys in a collaborative, team-oriented environment.


The ideal candidate will have a strong background supporting commercial litigation matters, exceptional organizational skills, and the ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced setting.


Responsibilities

  • Support a team of attorneys with daily litigation and administrative needs
  • Draft, revise, proofread, and finalize legal documents and correspondence
  • E-file documents in state and federal courts
  • Maintain attorney calendars, deadlines, meetings, and travel arrangements
  • Coordinate conference calls, client meetings, and CLE registrations
  • Organize and maintain electronic and physical client files
  • Review and process billing, pre-bills, and invoices
  • Prepare electronic closing binders and litigation materials
  • Create and update complex organizational charts
  • Assist with overflow requests from attorneys and practice groups as needed
  • Coordinate document management and support services
  • Track attorney CLE requirements and deadlines


Qualifications

  • 5+ years of legal assistant or legal secretary experience
  • Commercial litigation or business litigation experience required
  • Experience supporting attorneys who represent and defend businesses
  • State and federal court e-filing experience
  • Strong understanding of county and state court systems
  • Advanced Microsoft Office skills, including Outlook, Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience with legal billing software (Aderant preferred)
  • Exceptional proofreading and organizational abilities
  • Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple attorney requests
  • Typing speed of approximately 70 WPM or higher
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
