Business Development Manager

Mechanical Construction

A leading mechanical contracting business is seeking an ambitious Business Development Manager to drive growth across key construction and building services markets. This is a pivotal role for a commercially astute professional who thrives on developing relationships, winning work, and shaping long‑term growth strategy.

With a strong reputation for delivering complex mechanical systems across high‑value projects, the business continues to expand and is now investing in senior talent to support its next phase of growth.



The Role

As Business Development Manager, you will be responsible for identifying, pursuing, and securing new opportunities while strengthening existing client relationships. Working closely with senior leadership, pre‑construction, and operations teams, you'll play a key role in positioning the business for sustained success.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Identifying and securing new business opportunities across commercial, industrial, healthcare and specialist sectors
  • Building and maintaining strong relationships with clients, consultants, main contractors, and key stakeholders
  • Leading bid strategy and supporting tender submissions from early engagement through to contract award
  • Monitoring market trends, competitor activity, and pipeline opportunities
  • Representing the business at industry events, meetings, and networking functions
  • Supporting long‑term business planning and growth strategy



About You

We are keen to speak with driven business development professionals who understand the mechanical/building services market and can confidently operate at a senior level.

You will ideally have:

  • Proven experience in business development within mechanical contracting, MEP, or building services
  • A strong network across contractors, consultants, and end‑clients
  • Demonstrated success in securing work on large‑scale construction projects
  • Strong commercial awareness and negotiation skills
  • Excellent communication and relationship‑building abilities
  • A proactive, self‑motivated approach with a track record of exceeding targets
