  • Work on-site at the Alpha School campus located in Brownsville, TX
  • $100,000 annual W2 salary with weekly pay. Full health benefits from day one.
  • Relocation assistance available with a one-school-year campus commitment

You've devoted years to coaching students — not simply teaching them. The distinction matters: coaching means connecting, pushing boundaries, and refusing to accept anything less than a student's peak performance. Teaching means delivering content. You've never been a vehicle for content delivery.

Alpha operates one of the most unconventional schools you'll encounter. Students don't sit in traditional rows listening to lectures. They progress through AI-driven learning applications at an individualized pace. The AI manages instructional delivery. Your role centers on facilitating life skills workshops that capture and hold the attention of K-8 students, leading motivation sessions that drive them toward their weekly learning targets, and maintaining high standards when students attempt to disengage. Academic progress is automated. You manage the human dimension.

This position offers a meaningful advancement path, and that path leads to greater student impact. Educators who consistently achieve their metrics (100% cohort completion of weekly app goals, satisfaction scores above 90%) advance to Lead Guide positions where they mentor other educators in refining this approach. Students remain the central focus.

The campus sits in Brownsville, adjacent to SpaceX's Starbase facility. If your motivation for leaving your current position is the mission — transforming what students believe about their own potential — rather than enhancing your resume, submit your application.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-8 students on topics including public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange
  • Administering Test2Pass mastery assessments following each workshop to verify students have genuinely acquired the skill, not merely attended the session
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions informed by student profiles, personal interests, and Coachbot analytics to ensure 100% of your cohort achieves weekly app progression goals
  • Utilizing storytelling techniques, incentive systems (school currency, leaderboards), and one-on-one connection to overcome student resistance
  • Monitoring cohort satisfaction scores with a target of 90%+ on student surveys

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting lectures at a whiteboard. Students progress academically via self-directed AI-powered applications, not through direct instruction from you.
  • Supervising idle screen time. While students work on computers, your job demands active engagement and facilitation.
  • Compromising standards when students resist. Test2Pass benchmarks remain consistent, regardless of individual challenges a student may be facing.
  • Creating curriculum materials from the ground up. Lesson frameworks and workshop guides are supplied; your responsibility is executing them with the presence and narrative skill that ensures genuine student absorption.
  • Handling parent relations, admissions processes, or campus administration. Those functions belong to a separate role.

Business Consultant Key Responsibilities

  • Strong storytelling and facilitation presence — capable of maintaining a room of children's engagement for one hour

  • Legal authorization to work in the US without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Experience as an athletic coach, camp counselor, or youth program leader
  • Demonstrated history of high performance in competitive settings (academic, athletic, or professional)
  • Familiarity with self-directed or app-based learning environments
