HYBRID ROLE – Accounting Manager – Management Company - Private Equity

Job Description

  • Own the monthly close, including journal entries, reconciliations, accruals, and workpapers.
  • Prepare quarterly and annual financial statements and reporting packages.
  • Lead annual budgeting and multi-year forecasting in partnership with the CFO and department leads.
  • Establish and maintain internal controls and accounting policies; support firm-level regulatory reporting as needed.
  • Own the end-to-end intercompany and expense allocation process across the management company, funds, operating partners, and portfolio companies.
  • Serve as primary finance contact for portfolio company and operating partner counterparties; document and improve allocation methodologies and approval workflows.
  • Lead the implementation and rollout of a new management company accounting system.
  • Own UAT, training, change management, and post go-live administration and enhancements.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage AI and emerging technologies to streamline workflows.
  • Prepare monthly variance analyses, cash flow projections, and liquidity analyses.
  • Support ad hoc analysis, modeling, and reporting requests.
  • Manage day-to-day treasury operations including cash monitoring, wires and ACH approvals, and banking portal administration.
  • Collaborate with investment, IR, and operations teams on transactions, capital events, and strategic initiatives.
  • Oversee AP, vendor management, and employee expense reporting; review and approve disbursements.
  • Coordinate with the CFO on semi-monthly payroll, benefits, and related entries.


Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field; CPA required.
  • 5+ years of relevant accounting experience
  • Strong technical accounting foundation (US GAAP) with hands-on experience in management company close, budgeting, treasury, payroll-related accounting, and intercompany / billback processes.
  • Experience leading or playing a key role in a new ERP / accounting system implementation strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge and practical usage of AI tools to enhance workflows and automate manual tasks strongly preferred.
  • Working knowledge of fund accounting, partner capital accounts, and waterfall / carried interest concepts a plus.
