Job Title: Accountant

Compensation: $70,000 - $75,000

Our client is a well-established nonprofit organization based in Philadelphia, PA, dedicated to providing healthcare, health education, and social services to underserved communities. They are seeking an experienced Accountant to support their financial operations and ensure compliance with nonprofit accounting standards and grant requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Maintain the general ledger and prepare routine and adjusting journal entries
- Perform monthly, quarterly, and annual account reconciliations
- Assist with month-end and year-end close processes
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll entries
- Track restricted and unrestricted funds, ensuring proper classification and reporting
- Support grant accounting — track expenditures and prepare grant-related financial reports
- Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local nonprofit and funding regulations
- Assist with annual audits, reviews, and external examinations
- Prepare financial statements in accordance with GAAP and nonprofit standards
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis
- Assist with payroll processing using iSolve
- Utilize Bill.com for accounts payable workflows
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required
- 2–5 years of accounting experience; nonprofit experience required
- Grant accounting experience required (federal, state, and/or local)
- Proficiency in QuickBooks required
- Working knowledge of GAAP and nonprofit accounting principles
- Experience with iSolve (payroll) and Bill.com a strong plus
- Strong attention to detail, deadline-driven, and able to manage multiple priorities
