Role Overview

We are looking for a Technical Project Manager - Android Automotive to lead end-to-end execution of IVI programs involving HMI and headless applications integrated with Telematics systems.

This role is critical in ensuring seamless coordination across Tier-1 suppliers, HMI development partners, telematics teams, and product organizations, driving delivery not just from a timeline perspective, but from a use-case completeness and system integration readiness standpoint. The candidate is expected to bring strong domain understanding and actively contribute to problem-solving, avoiding dependency on multiple layers for basic technical direction.

Key Responsibilities

  • Drive program alignment across multiple vendors, internal teams, and stakeholders

Agile Planning & Sprint Management

  • Collaborate with Product Owners to:
    • Define, refine, and prioritize user stories
    • Ensure clarity on acceptance criteria and dependencies
  • Map user stories to appropriate sprints and ensure:

  • Act as the central coordination point across:
    • Tier-1 suppliers
    • HMI development partners
    • Telematics and backend teams
    • Internal product and engineering teams
  • Ensure seamless communication and eliminate unnecessary back-and-forth (ping-pong) between teams
  • Drive alignment on dependencies, interfaces, and integration points

Risk, Issue & Dependency Management

  • Identify and highlight risks early in the program lifecycle
  • Define and drive mitigation strategies before risks become critical
  • Track and communicate status of:
    • User stories
    • Defects/bugs
    • Program risks and dependencies
  • Ensure timely escalation with clear context and impact

Program Governance & Reporting

  • Publish weekly program health reports including:
    • Progress against plan
    • Risk and mitigation status
    • Dependency tracking
    • Key achievements and upcoming milestones
  • Maintain full transparency across all workstreams
  • Plan and lead structured cadences:
    • Sprint ceremonies (planning, review, retrospectives)
    • Cross-team syncs
    • Multi-partner integration meetings
    • Leadership and management reviews

Technical Understanding & Issue Triage

  • Demonstrate strong understanding of:
    • Android Automotive architecture (Apps Framework HAL)
    • IVI systems and HMI applications
    • Headless services and telematics data flow
  • Analyze issues at a module/domain level and route them to the correct teams
  • Provide first-level technical triage to avoid delays due to misrouting or lack of clarity

Required Skills & Expertise

Automotive Program Management

  • Proven experience managing complex automotive programs involving multiple vendors
  • Strong expertise in Agile/Scrum methodologies
  • Hands-on experience with tools like JIRA, Confluence, or similar tracking systems

Android Automotive (AAOS)

  • Exposure to end-to-end vehicle lifecycle (development to SOP)
  • Knowledge of CI/CD, release management, and integration workflows
  • Certification in Agile/Scrum (CSM, SAFe)

Soft Skills

  • Strong ownership mindset with execution rigor
  • Ability to understand and simplify complex system dependencies
  • Proactive approach to risk identification and mitigation
  • Excellent communication and structured reporting skills
  • Ability to operate effectively in highly cross-functional environments
