YOUR TASKS

Role Summary

This position owns the architecture, supplier framework, and technical direction for the entire vECU ecosystem. This role is accountable for defining and driving vECU Framework 2.0, establishing next-generation virtualization strategies, and ensuring robust toolchain compatibility across suppliers. The architect partners with global engineering teams, process experts, and suppliers to build scalable, modular, plugin-based virtualization solutions that are future-proof and aligned with organizational goals.

This position ensures seamless integration, drives adoption of virtualization technologies across programs, and provides mentorship to global/offshore teams. The role requires a deep understanding of software architecture, AUTOSAR/Non AUTOSAR, embedded development, and virtualization methods.

Key Responsibilities

Architecture & Framework Ownership

  • Define, develop the long-term technical roadmap.
  • Architect a modular, plugin-based supplier layer supporting scalable virtualization solutions.
  • Approve vECU methodologies, supplier toolchains, development workflows, and coding standards.


Technical Leadership & Integration

  • Analyze customer and system requirements and translate them into architectural strategies.
  • Design optimized, resource-efficient software architectures tailored for virtualization.
  • Specify AUTOSAR (Classic & Adaptive) configurations and supplier tool usage guidelines.
  • Ensure bidirectional traceability across System, Software, and Test domains.


Development, Integration & Validation

  • Lead development, integration, and maintenance of vECU software components.
  • Participate in design reviews, code reviews, and test specification reviews.
  • Support test execution using virtual environments and accelerate early-stage validation.
  • Drive issue analysis, perform impact assessments (incl. functional safety ASIL-D), and define corrective actions.


Project & Stakeholder Collaboration

  • Work closely with process and quality teams to embed virtualization into development workflows.
  • Mentor, guide, and train offshore/global engineering teams to build strong vECU capability.
  • Provide technical direction to Business Units, suppliers, internal teams, and validation partners.
  • Track and report progress, risks, dependencies, and architecture fitness.


Required Technical Skills

  • Strong expertise in vECU build flows, virtualization concepts, and AUTOSAR (Classic & Adaptive).
  • Hands-on experience with at least one supplier toolchains: dSPACE VEOS, ETAS LABCAR, Synopsys, MathWorks/Simulink.
  • Solid programming background in C and embedded systems.
  • Proficient with Python scripting, automation, and CI/CD pipelines.
  • Understanding of microcontroller architectures, compilers, and toolchains.
  • Experience with ISO 26262 ASIL-D compliant processes.
  • Good command of requirements and modeling tools such as DOORS, Rhapsody/UML, or equivalents.
  • Excellent customer communication and stakeholder interfacing skills.

Your Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s or master’s degree in computer science, IT, Electronics, Engineering, or related field
  • 10 - 12 years of Automotive industry expereince.
