Job Description (Job Summary / Roles & Responsibilities)

We are looking for a Lead Full Stack Engineer (MERN + AI) with strong hands-on expertise and leadership capabilities to drive the design, development, and delivery of scalable web applications and AI-powered solutions. This role combines deep technical ownership across the MERN stack with applied Generative AI capabilities (RAG, LangChain, LLM integrations).

The ideal candidate is a player-coach who can lead squads, collaborate with senior stakeholders (including CTO-level leadership), and thrive in a fast-paced, startup-like environment.

Key Responsibilities

Technical Leadership & Ownership

• Lead the design and development of full-stack applications using MongoDB, Express.js, React, and Node.js
• Architect scalable and secure systems with a focus on performance, resilience, and maintainability
• Own end-to-end delivery, including backend APIs, frontend UI, and AI integrations
• Make key decisions on architecture patterns, code quality, and technology adoption

AI / GenAI Engineering

• Design and implement AI-powered features using LLMs (OpenAI or similar)
• Build solutions leveraging:
• RAG (Retrieval Augmented Generation)
• LangChain / LangGraph frameworks
• Vector databases and embeddings
• Prompt engineering and evaluation pipelines
• Integrate AI capabilities into applications such as chatbots, automation workflows, and recommendation systems

Development Excellence

• Write clean, maintainable code with a strong emphasis on:
• Unit and integration testing
• Security best practices (OWASP Top 10)
• Code coverage and review standards
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues across frontend and backend systems
• Drive improvements in CI/CD pipelines and DevOps practices

System Integrations & Platform Development

• Build and enhance RESTful APIs and microservices
• Integrate with third-party systems and enterprise APIs
• Design modules such as:
• Campaign management systems
• Workflow automation engines
• Reporting and analytics pipelines

Team Leadership

• Lead and mentor a team/squad of engineers (1–2 years of leadership experience expected)
• Drive sprint delivery, code reviews, and engineering best practices
• Foster a culture of ownership, innovation, and continuous learning

Stakeholder Management

• Collaborate with CTOs, product managers, and business stakeholders
• Translate business requirements into scalable technical solutions
• Communicate effectively across technical and non-technical audiences

• Strong hands-on expertise in the MERN stack
• Experience in AI / GenAI systems (LLMs, RAG, or LangChain)
• Hands-on experience preferred; POC-level experience acceptable with strong conceptual understanding
• 1–2 years of team leadership experience
• Strong knowledge of:
• API design and distributed systems
• Testing (unit and integration)
• Security and performance optimization
• Experience with modern developer tools (Git, CI/CD, debugging)

Desired Skills (Nice to Have)

• Experience with:
• Prompt engineering and agent-based systems
