The Role

We are seeking a Senior Scrum Master (Specialist / Lead) to provide end-to-end accountability for Scrum adoption, maturity, and outcomes across one or more SAP delivery teams. This role goes beyond facilitating ceremonies and requires hands-on leadership in onboarding teams to Scrum, driving Scrum of Scrums, and continuously improving Agile delivery metrics over time.

You will act as a servant leader, Agile coach, and change agent, partnering closely with Product Owners, Engineering Leads, Architects, and stakeholders across India and the US. This role operates in parallel with US Scrum Masters and plays a critical role in driving consistency, transparency, and predictable delivery within SAP programs (S/4HANA, ECC, Fiori, BASIS, SD/MM/FICO, etc.).

Key Responsibilities

  • Scrum Leadership & Team Enablement
  • Take end-to-end accountability for effective Scrum implementation and outcomes for assigned SAP teams.
  • Onboard new and existing teams to Scrum, including ways of working, roles, ceremonies, artifacts, and Agile mindset.
  • Facilitate and continuously improve all Scrum Events (Sprint Planning, Daily Scrum, Sprint Review, Sprint Retrospective).
  • Coach teams toward self-organization, cross-functionality, and ownership of sprint commitments.
  • Act as a trusted advisor to Product Owners on backlog readiness, refinement, and value prioritization.
  • Scaled Agile & Cross-Team Collaboration
  • Drive and facilitate Scrum of Scrums, ensuring alignment across multiple SAP squads and products.
  • Proactively manage cross-team dependencies, integration risks, and shared environment constraints.
  • Collaborate with US Scrum Masters, Release Managers, and SAP leadership to ensure consistent Agile execution.
  • Enable transparency and predictability at program and product levels, especially in integrated SAP landscapes.
  • Metrics, Insights & Continuous Improvement
  • Define, track, and own Agile delivery metrics such as Velocity, Predictability, Burndown/Burnup, Cycle Time, Throughput, and Flow Efficiency.
  • Drive improvement of metrics over time using data to identify bottlenecks, improvement themes, and systemic issues.
  • Partner with teams and leadership to convert insights into measurable actions and sustained improvements.
  • Contribute to organization-level metrics consolidation and dashboards using Jira, Tableau, Power BI, or similar tools.
  • Impediment Removal & Organizational Change
  • Proactively identify, escalate, and resolve team and organizational impediments, especially those unique to SAP environments.
  • Influence stakeholders to remove systemic blockers and improve flow across Build, Test, and Release cycles.
  • Champion Agile mindset and cultural change within SAP and Corporate Applications teams.
  • Stakeholder & SAP Ecosystem Alignment
  • Facilitate effective collaboration between SAP functional teams, BASIS, security, testing, and business stakeholders.
  • Ensure teams understand SAP technical and functional complexities to support realistic planning and estimation.
  • Support Agile delivery within SAP frameworks such as SAP Activate, DevOps, and CI/CD practices.

Mandatory Skills & Qualifications

  • 8–10 years of total experience, with minimum 4–5 years as a Scrum Master / Agile Lead in enterprise environments.
  • Strong accountability mindset with ownership of Scrum adoption, delivery health, and continuous improvement outcomes.
  • Proven experience onboarding teams to Scrum and maturing Agile practices over time.
  • Hands-on experience driving Scrum of Scrums and cross-team coordination.
  • Demonstrated ability to define, track, and improve Agile metrics using data-driven insights.
  • Expert knowledge of Agile principles and Scrum framework with strong coaching and facilitation skills.
  • Proficiency with Jira, Confluence, and reporting tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to influence senior technical and business stakeholders.

Nice To Have / Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience implementing SAFe practices including PI Planning, ART ceremonies, and cross-team alignment.
  • SAFe certification (SA, SSM, or SPC) is a strong plus.
  • Certified Scrum Master (CSM), Professional Scrum Master (PSM I/II), or equivalent.
  • Solid experience working with SAP delivery teams (S/4HANA, ECC, ABAP, Fiori, BASIS, SD/MM/FICO, etc.).
  • Familiarity with SAP Activate methodology and Agile-DevOps integration.
  • Exposure to CI/CD and DevOps practices in SAP transport and release management.
