We are seeking a Senior Software Engineer specializing in Web Analytics with deep Adobe expertise to lead the design, governance, and evolution of our analytics architecture. In this role, you will own the Solution Design Reference, drive analytics governance frameworks, and partner with product, engineering, and delivery teams to embed measurement standards across web and mobile platforms. You will serve as the authoritative voice on Adobe Analytics best practices while preparing the organization for next-generation platforms like AEP and CJA.

 

Responsibilities

• Own, maintain, and evolve the Solution Design Reference (SDR), including all eVar, prop, and event allocations, namespace conventions, and data layer contracts across web and mobile
• Design and govern the registry architecture — screen, component, campaign, experiment, and product registries — ensuring consistent taxonomy across all teams
• Define and steward the journey taxonomy (e.g., Journey / Micro-journey / Feature model) and translate complex business questions into measurable, auditable tracking requirements
• Lead the analytics governance framework: change control processes, Registry Change Proposals (RCPs), RACI model, and a tiered data-quality escalation system
• Serve as the authoritative escalation point on Adobe Analytics best practices: hit structure, processing rules, VISTA rules, classification hierarchies, and report suite strategy
• Evaluate readiness for Adobe Experience Platform (AEP) and Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), advising on migration strategy and data model
• Embed analytics requirements into product discovery and design processes, ensuring instrumentation is considered before build rather than after release
• Define and enforce standards for experiment and A/B test instrumentation, ensuring downstream reporting is valid and actionable
• Drive analytics education and awareness across delivery teams, producing guides, documentation, and onboarding programmes for developers, QA, and product owners
• Produce and maintain architecture decision logs, governance artefacts, and implementation standards documentation

Requirements

• 5-8 years of general IT experience, including 2+ years of hands-on Adobe Analytics experience with demonstrable ownership of large-scale SDR design and governance
• Expertise in eVar, prop, and event architecture, processing rules, VISTA rules, and report suite configuration
• Background in designing and maintaining tag management implementations using Adobe Experience Platform Data Collection / Launch
• Strong data layer literacy — capability to define schemas, review JavaScript implementations, and work directly with engineering teams
• Proven ability to translate business objectives into measurement frameworks and communicate data strategy to senior stakeholders
• Skills in authoring and enforcing analytics governance frameworks, including change control, RACI, and data quality management
• Familiarity with mobile analytics instrumentation, including iOS and Android SDK integration patterns
• Proficient communication skills in English (B2 level or higher)

Nice to have

• Experience with Adobe Experience Platform (AEP), Customer Journey Analytics (CJA), or Real-Time CDP
• Knowledge of Swift or Kotlin sufficient to review AnalyticsSession method calls in mobile codebases
• Familiarity with SQL and data warehouse concepts for analytics data pipeline work
• Experience with complementary platforms such as Amplitude, GA4, or Mixpanel
• Understanding of experimental design and attribution modelling
