Job Description
The ideal candidate will build, enhance, and support digital experiences and enterprise portals using Liferay DXP, while also contributing to front-end development, deployment automation, and seamless content delivery.
What will you do:
Liferay DXP Development
- Develop, customize, and maintain Liferay DXP modules, portlets (MVC, JSF, React), hooks, themes, and layouts.
- Implement and configure Liferay OSGi modules, permissions, roles, and user/group management.
- Integrate Liferay with backend systems via REST/HEADLESS APIs.
- Work on asset management, workflow configuration, custom templates, and web content structures.
- Optimize portal performance, caching, and search using Liferay Elasticsearch configurations.
- Develop, design, and optimize scalable, secure, and high-performance applications in Liferay based on business requirements, collaborating with cross-functional teams to design and implement Liferay-based solutions, and maintaining and enhancing existing Liferay applications to ensure optimal user experience.
- Utilize Liferay DXP/Liferay 7.x, OSGi to develop and maintain Liferay Portal applications using Java/J2EE, JSP, HTML, JavaScript, Bootstrap, Jquery, React JS
- Experience in Liferay plugins/modules development like Portlets, extensions, Themes and Integrations.
- Experience in implementing Elastic search to quick search content on portal, share point and other cloud based document storage portals will be added advantage.
- Manage Liferay upgrades, performance tuning, and configuration of Liferay clusters in AWS instances
- Design and develop modules in Liferay with a strong emphasis on design principles.
- Configure, customize, and administrate the Liferay Portal environment.
- Knowledge in handling AWS servers - RHEL OS, AWS Console.
- Knowledge in Cyber security and Network configurations to handle the needs of the application maintenance.
- Optimize application performance, troubleshoot issues, and implement necessary fixes and enhancements.
- Integrate Liferay with other enterprise systems, databases, and third-party applications. Working with AI capability of Chatbot will be added as advantage
- Understand and implement non-functional requirements such as scalability, security, application monitoring, and performance.
- Experience in Deployment on Servers like Tomcat
- Strong knowledge on Scrum and Agile process.
UI Development
- Develop UI components utilizing Alloy UI, Clay, and Lexicon frameworks
- Develop responsive, user-friendly UI using HTML5, CSS3, JavaScript, jQuery, Bootstrap, React, or Angular.
- Implement theme customization, fragment creation, and Liferay-style updates.
- Ensure cross-browser compatibility, mobile responsiveness, and accessibility standards.
- Build and maintain CI/CD pipelines using Git, Jenkins, Azure DevOps, or GitHub Actions.
- Manage containerized deployments using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Work with application servers (Tomcat, JBoss) and databases (MySQL, PostgreSQL, Oracle).
- Participate in environment setup, monitoring, logging, and troubleshooting.
- Support cloud-based deployments (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Manage and support Liferay's content management features: Web Content, Display Pages, Structures, Templates, Asset Publisher.
- Work with business teams to streamline content workflows and approval processes.
- Enable SEO-friendly content delivery and personalization features.

- 3–6 years of hands-on software development experience.
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field (Master's preferred).
