Build a better world

Urbanization and continuous global economic growth create a steady need for homes, office buildings, roads and ports. This is driving the demand for cement despite its energy intensive process that accounts for 7% of global CO2 emissions. For more than 140 years, we have been pioneering solutions for the Cement industry by providing it with technologies, products and services that save energy, reduce emissions and maximize productivity. When we look at the world, we don’t see it as it is, we see it as it could be. We bring efficient production to our clients and decarbonization to the entire industry. This is why our Cement strategy is called GREEN26.

About The Role

Are you a skilled mechanical engineer with strong technical insight and a passion for creating efficient, safe, and future‑ready industrial solutions? As a Senior Project Coordinator, Plant Layout, you will play a key role in developing robust layouts for pyro and grinding systems that meet the highest standards for performance and safety. You’ll work closely with cross‑disciplinary teams to deliver accurate plot plans and GA documentation, lead layout activities on major projects, and drive quality through strong review and coordination practices. Your expertise will support global projects, ensuring well‑integrated designs and practical solutions—both in the office and on‑site.

About The Department

You will be part of the Plant Engineering department. As a part of Pyro & Grinding, we provide sustainable technologies for both new and existing cement installations. Our objective is to deliver technically robust plant layouts by applying hands‑on expertise in drafting Pyro and Grinding process systems, interlinking Fuller and third-party equipment that maximizes asset longevity, enables seamless integration of alternative fuels, and optimize operational performance and efficiency across our clients’ facilities. We are committed to delivering true value to our customers' assets while aligning with the industry's sustainability goals.

You will be part of global team while affiliated to one of our offices, Chennai (India) or Valby (Denmark).

Your Responsibilities

  • Prepare plot plans, general arrangement (GA) drawings, and outline/load drawings in accordance with process design, P&IDs, contract specifications, layout standards, and industry requirements.
  • Ensure all layouts comply with statutory and safety requirements, including hazard assessments, and support safe and efficient operation, erection, and maintenance at site.
  • Collaborate closely with Civil, Electrical, and Product Engineering teams to gather necessary inputs and finalize plant layout documentation.
  • Deliver accurate, error‑free plant layout documentation within agreed timelines.
  • Lead the plant layout scope on large projects, coordinating a team of in‑house and third‑party designers, reviewing their work, and ensuring all interfaces are properly managed.
  • Conduct GA design review meetings with stakeholders to validate completeness and correctness of the plant system design.
  • Participate in internal design review meetings for other projects and contribute layout‑related solutions.
  • Support client and consultant review meetings to present, discuss, and finalize layout designs.
  • Develop and maintain robust checking procedures to eliminate recurring mistakes, and actively train and mentor designers to strengthen layout quality.
  • Perform site visits during erection and construction phases to troubleshoot layout‑related issues and provide practical design solutions.

What You Bring

  • Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering from a reputed university.
  • At least 10 years of experience in contract project engineering within the cement industry, with strong exposure to plant design and layout engineering.
  • Ability to independently manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a project environment.
  • Proficiency in ATLAS, 3DEXPERIENCE, MS Office, AutoCAD, SolidWorks, and other 3D engineering tools.
  • A positive mindset that motivates colleagues locally and globally.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills, with fluency in English.
  • Good knowledge of Fuller products and a solid understanding of cement‑process fundamentals.
  • Strong conceptual thinking, visualization skills, and problem‑solving ability.
  • High focus on quality, accuracy, and effective time management.
  • Basic understanding of related disciplines such as Electrical and Civil engineering.
  • Familiarity with Fuller design standards, quality systems, and engineering procedures is an advantage.
  • A collaborative team player who understands group dynamics, is self‑motivated, and helps motivate others to achieve departmental goals.
  • Awareness of continuous improvement tools and a commitment to making incremental improvements. Experience working in cross‑cultural teams is considered an advantage.

What We Offer

  • A purpose-driven role with a global sustainability leader in the industry.
  • Inclusive and diverse work environment.
  • Competitive compensation and benefits.
  • Opportunities for professional growth and development.
  • Flexible work arrangements.
