Job Purpose

The Data Analyst will support Private Market investment operations by delivering trusted, well‑governed data solutions, leveraging strong expertise in the Citco fund administration environment. Partnering with Investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams, the role translates business requirements into clear data definitions, business rules, and quality standards supporting fund performance, exposure, and reporting needs.

The position is responsible for validating data quality, managing issues, and maintaining robust documentation to ensure accuracy and consistency before downstream use. Through strong domain knowledge, analytical rigor, and effective stakeholder communication, the analyst enables reliable insights and informed decision‑making across Private Market portfolios.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leverage strong CITCO domain experience to support Investment, Risk, Finance, and Data & Analytics teams with trusted fund and financial data.
  • Analyze and validate fund performance, fund administration, and exposure data sourced from Citco to ensure accuracy and consistency.
  • Translate business needs into well‑defined data requirements, including data quality rules, completeness criteria, and acceptance standards.
  • Write and maintain data rules, validation checks, business logic, and quality thresholds to define what “good data” looks like.
  • Perform day‑to‑day analysis of datasets to monitor, refine, and continuously improve data accuracy and completeness.
  • Document data element definitions, calculations, tolerances, and transformations in a structured and consistent manner.
  • Identify missing or incomplete data fields, assess business impact, and coordinate remediation with relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and enrich data dictionaries, including field definitions, permissible values, and transformation logic.
  • Validate data outputs with business users to ensure alignment with reporting, analytics, and operational expectations.
  • Investigate data anomalies using SQL and analytical tools, supporting reconciliations and root cause analysis.
  • Clearly document and track data issues with severity, impacted datasets, ownership, and resolution status.
  • Ensure data issues are routed to the correct owners, tracked through closure, and resolved with supporting evidence.
  • Build, maintain, and refine dashboards, metadata, and governance artifacts in Collibra.
  • Maintain data lineage notes, documentation, and issue logs to ensure transparency, consistency, and audit readiness.
  • Collaborate with data engineering, governance, and operations teams to improve data pipelines and quality controls.
  • Support Agile delivery by contributing to user stories, acceptance criteria, sprint planning, and data validation activities.

Key competencies

  • Candidates should have a B.E./B.Tech/MCA/MBA in Information Systems, Computer Science or a related field
  • Proven experience working in CITCO environments, with strong understanding of investment, fund accounting, and financial data.
  • Strong understanding of private equity and alternative investments, including fund performance metrics, capital activity, investor allocations, and exposure reporting.
  • Strong ability to translate business needs into data requirements, business rules, and acceptance criteria.
  • Hands‑on expertise in defining data quality rules, validation checks, and completeness standards.
  • Solid understanding of data quality dimensions (accuracy, completeness, consistency, timeliness).
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving skills, with experience using SQL and structured analysis to identify data issues.
  • Ability to document data definitions, business logic, calculations, and data transformations clearly and consistently.
  • Experience maintaining data dictionaries, identifying missing fields, and managing metadata.
  • Hands‑on experience building and maintaining dashboards, governance artefacts, and metadata in Collibra.
  • Strong issue tracking and remediation skills, including severity assessment, ownership coordination, and closure validation.
  • Excellent stakeholder communication skills, with familiarity in Agile delivery practices and strong attention to detail.
