Role Title: Scrum Master
Reports To: Product Manager
Role Summary
We are looking for a highly motivated and organized Scrum Master to lead agile delivery across one or more Scrum teams. You will be responsible for ensuring agile practices are followed, fostering a high-performing team culture, proactively resolving impediments, and ensuring reliable and predictable delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Facilitate all agile ceremonies: daily stand-ups, sprint planning, backlog grooming, sprint reviews, and retrospectives.
- Coach the team in Agile principles, focusing on continuous improvement, team ownership, and delivery excellence.
- Partner with Product Owners and Tech Leads to ensure stories are well-defined and sprint-ready.
- Act as a servant-leader to remove team impediments, foster collaboration, and improve sprint health.
- Track and report key agile delivery metrics (see Metrics section below).
- Maintain sprint discipline through clear enforcement of Definition of Ready (DoR) and Done (DoD).
- Proactively engage with cross-functional teams (QA, DevOps, Product) to unblock delivery paths.
- Drive team retrospectives into actionable outcomes and improvements.
- Maintain and optimize the teams JIRA/Azure DevOps boards for transparency and flow.
Agile Metrics & Reporting Responsibility
As part of delivery accountability, the Scrum Master will own and report the following sprint-level metrics:
- Sprint Velocity (committed vs completed)
- Burndown and Burnup Charts
- Sprint Spillover Rate
- Cycle Time & Lead Time
- Work in Progress (WIP) tracking
- Team Capacity Utilization
- Defect Leakage / Quality Trend (in collaboration with QA)
- Blocked Work Items / Impediment Aging
- Story Point Estimation Accuracy
- Sprint Commitment Reliability (predictability)
- Create and maintain dashboards in JIRA/ADO to track these metrics per sprint and across releases.
- Present metric trends during retrospectives and delivery reviews with Product and Leadership.
Key Qualifications
- 5+ years of total Agile delivery experience, including 2+ years as a full-time Scrum Master.
- Strong understanding of Agile frameworks (Scrum, Kanban); familiarity with SAFe or scaled frameworks is a plus.
- Hands-on experience in JIRA and/or Azure DevOps ability to create dashboards, filters, and reports.
- Strong facilitation, coaching, and communication skills.
- Scrum certifications preferred (CSM, PSM, SAFe-SM, etc.).
- Proven ability to track, analyze, and act upon delivery metrics.
- Experience working with distributed or cross-functional teams.
