Job Description – Retail Jewellery Sales Executive

Department: Retail Sales

Reporting To: Store Manager / Area Sales Manager

Location: Jewellery Showroom



Role Objective

To drive jewellery sales by delivering exceptional customer experience, achieving sales targets, and maintaining the highest standards of product presentation, trust, and compliance.



Key Responsibilities

1. Sales & Customer Experience

  • Welcome customers and understand their jewellery requirements (occasion, budget, design).
  • Present and explain jewellery designs, purity, certification, pricing, and offers.
  • Achieve individual and store sales targets (value, weight, and conversion).
  • Upsell and cross-sell related jewellery and add-on products.
  • Build trust and long-term customer relationships.

2. Product Knowledge

  • Maintain in-depth knowledge of gold, diamond, silver, and lab-grown jewellery.
  • Explain purity (karat), diamond grading (4Cs), certifications, and buyback/exchange policies.
  • Stay updated on new collections, pricing changes, and promotions.

3. Billing & Store Operations

  • Prepare accurate bills and ensure compliance with pricing and discount approvals.
  • Assist in stock inward/outward, tagging, and daily stock verification.
  • Follow SOPs for security, inventory control, and loss prevention.

4. Visual Merchandising & Store Hygiene

  • Ensure jewellery displays meet brand and visual merchandising guidelines.
  • Maintain cleanliness, lighting, and overall showroom appearance.
  • Ensure all jewellery is properly displayed, labelled, and secured.

5. Customer Relationship Management

  • Capture customer details for follow-ups, repeat visits, and festive campaigns.
  • Handle customer queries and basic complaints politely and professionally.
  • Support after-sales services such as repairs, resizing, and customization follow-ups.

6. Compliance & Discipline

  • Adhere to company policies, grooming standards, and code of conduct.
  • Maintain punctuality, attendance, and professionalism at all times.
  • Follow safety and security protocols strictly.



Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)

  • Sales value and weight targets
  • Conversion ratio & average bill value
  • Customer satisfaction & repeat sales
  • SOP and audit compliance



Qualifications & Experience

  • Minimum qualification: 12th Pass / Graduate preferred
  • Experience: 1–4 years in retail jewellery sales (preferred)
  • Knowledge of basic computer skills
  • Strong communication and customer-handling skills
