A Day in Your Life at MKS:
As a Production Planner- II at MKS MSD, you will coordinate and execute production planning activities in collaboration with cross-functional teams. You will independently manage planning schedules, optimize production workflows, and ensure timely execution aligned with departmental and organizational objectives.
You will work closely with the team manager, operations, supply chain, and other technical and business teams, maintaining clear communication and a strong culture of accountability and continuous improvement. Interaction with internal and external stakeholders may be required for demand alignment, production prioritization, issue resolution, and on-site support.
You Will Make an Impact By:
  • Develop detailed production plans considering batch processes, vessel capacity, and changeover constraints.
  • Coordinate with procurement/sourcing teams and material planner/s to ensure availability of raw materials, intermediates, and packaging materials.
  • Continually improve systems and processes towards material planning for both domestic and imported supplies and plan and implement production plan considering high capacity utilization and minimal losses in material and other resources.
  • Showcase capability to manage complete planning cycle of demand , supply & materials along with production planning.
  • Work closely with plant operations to optimize batch cycles, yields, and throughput.
  • Monitor inventory levels of raw materials, WIP, and finished goods to avoid shortages or excess.
  • Plan and manage production plan, considering shelf life and storage conditions of chemicals.
  • Coordinate with quality team for batch release, testing timelines, and deviations.
  • Track KPIs such as OTIF, batch adherence, capacity utilization, and waste reduction.
  • Manage contingencies such as supply disruptions, quality issues, or equipment downtime.
  • Maintain accurate planning data in ERP/SAP systems.
  • Support and implement continuous improvement initiatives, cost optimizations, and other relevant kaizen initiatives and industry best practices.
  • Analyze possibilities of products localization and implement as per capability.
Skills You Bring:
  • B.Tech in Mechanical or Chemical Engineering, with 10-13 years of relevant industrial experience.
  • Demonstrated experience leading DoEs, experimental planning, and complex problem solving.
  • Ability to analyze results, draw accurate conclusions, and propose scientifically sound next steps.
  • Good communication, presentation and collaboration skills.
  • Creative, structured, and methodical approach to technical challenges.
  • High ownership, self motivation, and ability to drive tasks from concept to completion.
Preferred Skills:
  • Experience of 10-13 years in Chemical industry or FMCG industry.
  • Strong Knowledge of Safety protocols prevalent in Chemical Industries.
  • Hands on experience with S&OP and Material planning processes and industry automation best practices.
  • Working knowledge on TPM, Lean, Six sigma.
  • SAP with IBP, APO.
