Burns & McDonnell India’s Water Global Practice in Mumbai is seeking to hire Process Designers proficient in modern design tools to support globally renowned water and wastewater treatment projects. This role offers broad exposure to process design, drafting, multidisciplinary coordination, and project execution activities.

To support our growing project pipeline and strengthen our Process Technology team, we are hiring experienced Process Designers.

The roles and responsibilities for this position include the following:

  • Work in Auto Plant 3D, Revit (P&ID), AutoCAD, Smart Plant P&ID, MicroStation, AVEVA, and Excel to develop high quality design deliverables.
  • Prepare and update P&ID, PFD, MSD, and BFD drawings in accordance with drafting standards and project requirements.
  • Maintain and apply drafting standards, symbols, legend sheets, and ensure consistency across project deliverables.
  • Independently prepare and revise process drawings while maintaining high quality and accuracy.
  • Possess basic knowledge of plot plan development and understand the inputs required for process drafting.
  • Support configuration and administration of project setup files in design platforms; experience with project configuration tools is an added advantage.
  • Collaborate with multidisciplinary engineering teams across multiple Burns & McDonnell offices to ensure coordinated and compliant design output.
  • Perform soft and hard quality checks to ensure completeness, accuracy, and adherence to client and project standards.
  • Provide third party quality review support to project teams as needed.
  • Communicate effectively with engineers to address design clarifications, resolve drafting queries, and incorporate design changes in a timely manner

Qualifications

The candidate should hold a Diploma/ITI . A professional drafting certification is preferred, along with 3 to 6 years of relevant experience in process drafting within the water industry.

Additional Qualifications Include

  • Proficiency in AutoPlant 3D, Revit (P&ID), AutoCAD, MicroStation, AVEVA, and Smart Plant P&ID, Microsoft Office.
  • Experience in drafting deliverables for water treatment, wastewater treatment, desalination, RO systems, ultra purification, and demineralization plants.
  • Understanding project setup configuration and drafting administration activities is an advantage.
  • Strong problem solving ability and capability to work independently with minimal supervision.
  • Demonstrates strong attention to detail, quality orientation, and teamwork.
  • Effective communication, both written and verbal, and adequate proficiency in English.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in multidisciplinary, multi office project environments.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills.
