Job Title: Management Associate, RMG Technology Risk

Department: Risk Management Group (RMG) - Technology Risk

Location: Mumbai, India

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Management Associate to join our dynamic Risk Management Group (RMG) in the Technology Risk department. This role offers an excellent opportunity to contribute to the bank's robust technology risk management framework, working within the second line of defence to provide objective review and challenge to technology and cyber security risks. The successful candidate will play a critical role in assessing, reporting, and mitigating technology risks, ensuring adherence to internal policies and external regulatory guidelines.

Key Responsibilities & Requirements:

  • Technology Risk Assessment: Assess technology risks arising in the Technology and Cyber Security space within the bank, ensuring comprehensive identification and analysis of potential threats and vulnerabilities.
  • Reporting and Presentations: Prepare and report technology risks to Senior Management in monthly committees, including the development of clear, concise, and impactful presentations.
  • Incident and Policy Review: Review incident reports to understand root causes and impacts and critically evaluate risk policies to ensure their effectiveness and alignment with best practices and regulatory requirements.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Work closely with Line 1 (business units), Line 1.5 (governance within Group Technology), and the Information Security Services (ISS) teams to provide guidance, objective review, and challenge on their technology risk management activities.
  • Risk Monitoring & Documentation: Contribute to the monitoring and reporting of key technology-related risks, issues, and Key Risk Indicators (KRIs), providing management and relevant Board committees with an independent assessment of the Group's technology risk profile, including cyber security risks.
  • Compliance and Governance: Ensure the bank's technology risk management approach aligns with RMG’s Group Technology Risk Management Policy and adheres to guidelines such as MAS Technology Risk Management Guidelines, identifying areas for improvement and ensuring stricter requirements prevail where policies differ from regulations.
  • Strategic Contribution: Contribute to improving the bank's overall technology risk posture by providing insightful analysis and actionable recommendations.

Required Experience & Qualifications:

  • Experience: 2-3 years of proven experience in the IT and/or Cyber Security space, preferably within the financial services industry.
  • Education: A Management degree with a strong focus or experience in Technology/Cyber Security is essential.
  • Technical Acumen: Solid understanding of technology risk management principles, cybersecurity concepts, and risk assessment methodologies. Familiarity with relevant regulatory frameworks (e.g., RBI Technology Risk Management Guidelines) is a significant advantage.
  • Communication & Presentation Skills: Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal, with a strong ability to prepare and deliver compelling presentations to senior stakeholders.
  • Analytical Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities to assess complex technology risks and provide practical solutions.
  • Collaboration: Ability to work effectively and collaboratively with diverse internal teams across different lines of defence.
