Position Overview:

Software Engineers at Trimble Transportation are responsible for designing / implementing / testing / maintaining our products. This specific position is focused on full-stack development and maintenance. The most important specific technical skill for this role is back-end development.

Most importantly, this position requires a fundamentally strong coder and a persistent problem solver who: 1) has a bias for experimenting, iterating quickly, and offering ideas, 2) has the ability and the desire to work within a large existing code base that is relied upon by many important customers, and 3) who is curious to build and share knowledge.

Primary Responsibilities:

• Design, develop, and maintain software applications for both internal and external use
• Create well-designed and efficient APIs for internal and external consumption
• Develop database schemas and optimize SQL queries for efficient data retrieval and storage
• Collaborate with product, architects, and other stakeholders to understand requirements and implement them within the planned timelines

Required Skills:

• Work experience as a back-end .NET developer with 5-8 years of experience
• Proficiency in C#, building REST API s and experience in the .NET 8 framework
• Expertise in writing and optimizing complex SQL queries, and stored procedures and in LinQ for database operations
• Experience with using alerting and monitoring tools (datadog, etc) and source control (Git, Subversion, etc.)
• Bachelors degree in CS from an accredited four-year institution, or equivalent experience
• Strong coding, debugging, and problem-solving skills
• Excellent organizational, written, verbal, and interpersonal skills
• Eye for detail, intimate familiarity with industry development standards/best practices

Preferred Skills:

• Experience in Azure Logic Apps
• Knowledge of the transportation industry
• Experience with Azure or AWS
