Typical Day in the Life

A typical day in the life of a Financial Services Consulting Associate/Senior Associate may include the following:

• Effectively works and communicates with Eide Bailly Team in the financial institution industry to ensure processes and operations meet required regulations and industry best practices.
• Prepares and assists with planning and testing for financial institution clients, including reviewing internal processes and controls, regulatory examination issues, and corrective action.
• Helps prepare and summarize testing results in a report.
• Understands and keeps current with financial institution trends or issues, in order to recommend and/or develop processes and procedures to implement changes to better serve the client.
• Ensures timely and accurate performance on assigned projects.
• Maintains adherence with project budgets, turnaround times, and deadlines.
  
  

Who You Are

• You have a Bachelor’s Degree in Business or related field preferred.
• You have 1-3 years of financial institution experience with emphasis on compliance, internal controls and bank regulations.
• You have well-rounded knowledge of financial institution, internal controls and regulations.
• You have the ability to communicate clearly in writing and verbally.
• You can work on multiple projects and meet deadlines by setting priorities.
• You can establish and maintain effective working relationships with co-workers.
• You are proficient with computers, Microsoft Office (Word and Excel) and related programs.
  
  

Key Financial Services Consulting Focus Areas

• Internal Controls including but not limited to lending, credit, deposit accounts, electronic banking, accounting and financial reporting, cash controls and interest rate risk and liquidity risk management
• Consumer Compliance Regulations including but not limited to Lending, deposits and other regulations
• Bank Secrecy Act/Anti Money Laundering/Countering Financial Terrorism and BSA/AML/CFT Model System Validation
• Automated Clearing House (ACH) Exams
• Loan File Review related to credit quality and adherence to policy and procedures
• Mortgage Origination and Servicing Quality Control including FNMA, Freddie Mac and other government loan programs
• Mortgage Electronic Registration System (MERS)
