Team Leader - Finance And Accounting

Job Summary:


We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Team Leader to manage the day-to-day operations of a team handling outsourced Finance & Accounting (F&A) processes for US-based clients. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a solid accounting background, and proven experience in handling transitions, process improvements, and people development. This role also requires hands-on involvement in service delivery, client engagement, and ensuring successful onboarding of new processes.


Key Responsibilities:


  • Lead and manage a team of 10-15 F&A associates, overseeing daily planning, work allocation, managing operations, and issue resolution.
  • Ensure timely and accurate delivery of all F&A processes in accordance with client SLAs and internal KPIs.
  • Take ownership of performance management, coaching, and professional development of team members to maintain consistently high-quality output.
  • Drive a culture of client-centricity, continuous improvement, and accountability within the team.
  • Independently manage the transition of new processes, including SOP development, stakeholder coordination, and execution of detailed transition plans.
  • Act as the primary communication bridge between the team and senior management, ensuring alignment on performance goals, updates, and escalations.

Required Skills and Qualifications:

  • Bachelors degree in accounting, Finance, or a related discipline (MBA/CA/CPA preferred).
  • 3+ years of progressive experience in F&A operations, including 1+ years in a people management role.
  • Proven experience handling multiple transitions/projects and managing mid-size to large US-based clients.
  • Demonstrated expertise across F&A domainsAP, AR, GL, Month-End/Year-End Close, Reconciliations.
  • Advanced proficiency in MS Excel and hands-on experience with ERP systems
  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced, matrixed, and client-facing environment.
