Job Summary

The AVP, Infrastructure Engineer – AWS Cloud is a senior individual contributor responsible for designing and building AWS infrastructure to support large-scale application and data platform migrations from on-premises to cloud. This role translates enterprise architecture and migration design documents into secure, resilient, and cost-optimized AWS environments. The position is hands-on with no direct people management responsibilities and partners closely with Architecture, Security, Networking, and Application teams.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and operate AWS infrastructure using Infrastructure as Code (Terraform/CloudFormation)
  • Build AWS services including VPC, EC2, EKS/ECS, RDS/Aurora, S3, IAM, Route 53, ALB/NLB, and CloudWatch
  • Execute infrastructure builds supporting data center exit and cloud migration initiatives
  • Implement AWS security best practices including least-privilege IAM, encryption, logging, and monitoring
  • Support hybrid connectivity patterns including VPN and Direct Connect
  • Apply FinOps principles to optimize AWS cost and resource utilization
  • Collaborate with Architecture and Security teams to ensure compliance and standards alignment

Required Qualifications

  • 10+ years of infrastructure engineering experience with 5+ years in AWS
  • Strong hands-on experience with Terraform and/or CloudFormation
  • Deep knowledge of AWS networking, compute, storage, identity, and security
  • Experience supporting enterprise-scale cloud migrations
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hybrid cloud environments

Preferred Qualifications

  • AWS Professional-level certifications
  • Experience with EKS, ECS, and container platforms
  • Experience operating in regulated enterprise environments
  • Experience with using AI tools such as Copilot, ChatGPT, Claude, or Cursor in the creation of automation.
