About the Role:

We are looking for a senior operations leader to own and scale the end-to-end supply chain, logistics, and lifecycle operations for Paytm's device business, including Soundbox, EDC/POS machines, and allied merchant devices.

This role will be responsible for managing the complete forward and reverse logistics ecosystem — from vendor dispatches to central warehousing, hub distribution, field deployment, device replacements, retrievals, refurbishment flows, and inventory reconciliation across the network.

The ideal candidate should bring deep expertise in large-scale distributed operations, field logistics, asset tracking, supply chain planning, vendor management, and operational excellence in a high-growth environment.

Key Responsibilities

End-to-End Supply Chain Ownership

• Own the complete device supply chain and logistics network across India.
• Manage forward logistics from manufacturing vendors to central warehouse, regional hubs, and frontline deployment teams.
• Lead reverse logistics for replacements, returns, retrievals, refurbishments, and scrap management.
• Ensure high device availability while optimizing inventory and logistics costs.

Warehousing & Distribution

• Oversee central warehouse operations and regional hub ecosystem.
• Drive inventory accuracy, stock reconciliation, shrinkage control, and audit compliance.
• Optimize warehouse processes, SLAs, dispatch timelines, and throughput efficiencies.
• Build scalable SOPs for device movement, storage, and handling.

Field Operations & Deployment

• Partner closely with frontline business teams to ensure seamless merchant deployment.
• Improve deployment TATs and replacement turnaround times.
• Design operational models for rapid scaling across geographies.
• Ensure device traceability across the lifecycle until merchant deployment and retrieval.

Reverse Logistics & Refurbishment

• Build robust systems for merchant device pickups and returns.
• Manage refurbishment loops with repair/refurbishment partners and OEM vendors.
• Drive recovery rates, refurbishment yield, and asset utilization.
• Minimize losses through effective tracking and governance mechanisms.

Vendor & Partner Management

• Manage relationships with manufacturing vendors, logistics partners, warehouse operators, and refurbishment agencies.
• Define SLAs, operational KPIs, penalties, and performance review mechanisms.
• Drive continuous process improvements and cost efficiencies across partners.

Process Excellence & Analytics

• Establish strong operational governance through dashboards, metrics, and review cadences.
• Track KPIs such as deployment TAT, replacement TAT, inventory ageing, recovery %, refurbishment yield, logistics cost per device, and stock accuracy.
• Leverage technology, automation, and data analytics to improve visibility and operational control.
• Drive digitization of inventory and asset tracking systems.

Leadership

• Build and lead a high-performing operations and logistics organization.
• Drive cross-functional alignment across supply chain, business, finance, product, procurement, and field operations teams.
• Foster a culture of accountability, speed, execution excellence, and continuous improvement.

Ideal Candidate Profile

Experience

• 12–18+ years of experience in supply chain, logistics, field operations, or asset lifecycle management.
• Strong experience managing distributed operations at national scale.
• Prior experience in device businesses, telecom, fintech, consumer electronics, mobility, ecommerce, or large field-service organizations preferred.
• Experience handling both forward and reverse logistics at scale is essential.
• Exposure to refurbishment, repair operations, or asset recovery ecosystems is highly desirable.
