Offers will be commensurate with the candidate’s experience and qualifications and will thoughtfully consider internal pay equity for agency staff who perform similar duties and have similar qualifications. The top half of the posted salary range is generally reserved for candidates who exceed the requirements and qualifications for the role. The maximum salary range is reserved for candidates that far exceed the required and preferred qualifications for the role.

Position Overview

The deputy program management director is responsible for multiple federal programs. This individual performs advanced managerial and technical assistance work under minimal supervision by providing direction and guidance related to program requirements, LEA applications, and compliance reports. The program director establishes specific policies, guidance, training, priorities, requirements, and provides consultative and technical assistance to agency staff, educational service center (ESC) staff, local educational agency (LEA) staff, and other governmental agencies while overseeing compliance and maintaining documentation to verify compliance for LEAs and ESCs providing federal programs. As part of the compliance monitoring process, this individual establishes priorities, standards, and monitoring tools for determining progress in meeting program goals by coordinating and evaluating program activities for federal programs and the state initiatives implemented under this position. The program director provides oversight of ESC and statewide initiatives and represents the agency and division at various in-person program meetings, conferences, and committee meetings.

Essential Functions

Job duties are not limited to the essential functions mentioned below. You may perform other functions as assigned.

  • Program Compliance Monitoring: conducts program monitoring validations of LEAs and/or campus(es) on program implementation requirements within specified timelines; trains, reviews, and develops documents to be shared with selected LEAs and for publication to website
  • Program Management, Training, and Resource Production: develops, maintains, and trains on statutory program implementation requirements; meets timelines on development and delivery of program training, development of program requirement documentation, and development of documents for publication to website; edits and proofreads documents and resources for the Division
  • Customer Service: communicates professionally, effectively, and in a timely manner with the ESCs, LEAs, and the public; consistently exemplifies good customer service in responding to requests, providing training, feedback, planning, and organizing, understanding, and knowledge of statutory requirements

Qualifications

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Education: Graduation from an accredited four-year college or university
  • Experience: At least five [5] years of experience in federal programs management or federal programs implementation at an LEA, ESC, state, or federal agency
