  • On-site at Alpha campuses in Denver, CO | Atlanta, GA | Nashville, TN | Fort Worth, TX | Houston, TX | Park City, UT
  • $100,000 annual salary, distributed weekly. Full health, dental, and vision coverage from day one
  • Considering relocation? Support is provided

The most meaningful support you can offer a student who reached 99% of their target is to refuse to accept it as complete. If that expectation makes you uneasy, this position won't suit you. If it energizes you because you understand that maintaining high standards demonstrates your belief in a student's ability to meet them, continue reading.

Alpha operates differently from conventional schools. Students complete a full day's worth of academics in roughly two hours using adaptive software. No classroom lectures. No traditional textbooks. Your role centers on what technology cannot replicate: guiding students through essential life skills such as public speaking, concentration, and constructive feedback exchange. You'll facilitate interactive workshops, drive students to achieve their learning targets, and develop relationships that transform a reserved 4th grader into someone who presents with confidence before a room of adults.

This position grows over time. During your first year, you'll guide a small student cohort and implement Alpha's established framework: life skills workshops, motivation coaching, mastery-based evaluation. As you demonstrate consistent ability to guide every student toward 100% goal achievement while maintaining satisfaction scores above 90%, advancement to Lead Guide becomes available—where you'll mentor a team while remaining directly engaged with students. The most effective people in this role don't merely impact individual trajectories; they influence how an entire campus functions.

Traditional schools don't offer this opportunity. If you've been coaching, counseling, or mentoring young people and want to move beyond instructional teaching to focus on their actual development, this is that opportunity.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Facilitating one-hour life skills workshops for K-12 students covering topics including public speaking, focus, time management, and feedback exchange (interactive and project-based, never lecture format)
  • Conducting daily motivation sessions where you engage individual students, assess their adaptive learning app progress (via Coachbot analytics), and challenge them to achieve 100% of weekly targets
  • Organizing and conducting mastery-based assessments (Test2Pass) to verify students have genuinely mastered each skill, not merely completed activities
  • Establishing authentic connections with each student so they trust your guidance through moments of resistance, distraction, and uncertainty
  • Monitoring student advancement using satisfaction scores and goal completion data, modifying your methods when outcomes don't meet expectations

What You Won’t Be Doing

  • Presenting classroom lectures or providing traditional academic instruction (students master core subjects through self-directed adaptive applications, not through you)
  • Creating lesson plans independently (Alpha supplies a life skills curriculum and implementation guides; your responsibility is to execute them with energy and narrative skill)
  • Handling parent communications or administrative school functions (Campus Leads manage those areas; you concentrate on your students)
  • Evaluating homework or coordinating standardized test preparation (neither exists in this environment)
  • Operating independently (you're integrated into a campus team with Lead Guides, Campus Leads, and colleagues who exchange feedback and maintain mutual accountability)

Business Consultant Key Responsibilities

Ensure every student in your cohort develops a love for school, achieves mastery of critical life skills, and reaches 100% of their academic targets through adaptive learning software.

Basic Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in any discipline
  • 3+ years of direct experience working with K-8 students (in teaching, coaching, counseling, or youth program leadership capacities)
  • Willingness to work on-site at an Alpha campus in Denver, CO; Atlanta, GA; Nashville, TN; Fort Worth, TX; Houston, TX; or Park City, UT (relocation assistance available)
  • Ability to participate in a paid training program at Alpha's Austin, TX campus
  • Legal authorization for employment in the United States without requiring visa sponsorship

Nice-to-have Requirements

  • Background in youth development: sports coaching, camp leadership, or youth programming where you held direct responsibility for motivating children toward specific objectives
  • History of exceptional personal accomplishment (academic distinctions, competitive athletics, or leadership positions requiring sustained high performance)
  • Innate storytelling capability: you can command a room of 12-year-olds for an hour without needing to raise your voice
  • Experience re-engaging unmotivated or resistant students and converting them into active contributors
